Mourne Trail Riding Centre

The centre is situated two miles from Newcastle, County Down, Northern Ireland, in the foothills of the Mourne Mountains and close to Tollymore Forest Park.

The family run centre has been open since 1984. We have a small number of Irish bred horses which we have picked carefully for their temperament and suitability. Our horses are forward thinking and mannerly which gives our clients an enjoyable and fun experience. They range in height from 15hh to 16.2hh

The rides and what they entail

We do one and two hour guided rides

The one hour rides are on quieter roads and bridle paths which circle the yard. We can walk trot and canter on lanes and tracks with lovely views of the mountains and the sea.

Our two hour rides go through Tollymore Forest Park. It is a working forest which used to be part Tollymore House demesne. This ride takes us through wonderful scenery on the forestry tracks. We can give fun rides with plenty of trotting and cantering.
